We are looking for a Garden Coordinator! (Or a team)
Our little garden is in need of one or two great people to fill the role of Garden Coordinator. This is a big but incredibly fulfilling volunteer position, and the garden doesn’t exist without it. Please check out the flyer below for full details!
The award winning Ferndale Friendship Community Garden is located south of Pioneer Park near the baseball fields and Star Park. Residents from the greater Ferndale community gather to maintain the community garden which provides fresh food for the Ferndale food bank. There are 25 garden plots and 10 Hoop house plots for rent to individuals and families so they can plant and harvest their own vegetables.
Plots rent on a sliding scale for $10 to $20 for the season plus a $10 refundable cleaning deposit.
Gloria J. Perez is the FFCG garden coordinator. She began as volunteer at the garden in 2008 and has been the coordinator since 2010. She is a Whatcom County Master Gardener and is currently a member of the WSU Whatcom County Community First Garden Project Steering Committee.
