Holiday Giving Store now taking names for the wait list

The Holiday Giving store accepted applications and filled all spots, but we are still taking names of our waiting list. If families that reserved spots cancel, we will fill the spots from the wait list. Ferndale School district families that want to be added to the wait list can apply using the Google form below. Please be sure to read all of the instructions on the page before applying. If you’re interested in donating funds to purchase gifts and support the Store, please visit our DONATE page and choose Holiday Giving Store from the PayPal drop down. Thank you!

Need help with your water bill? The Ferndale Community Utilities Fund still has funds available!- APPLY HERE

Do you need assistance paying for your City of Ferndale Water/Sewer bill? Have you been negatively impacted by COVID? Please apply to our program! The income limits are high ($6550 a month for a family of 4), and the grant amounts are generous. We are able to provide this assistance because of the generosity of our community and some amazing funders: The Mary H Storer Foundation and Whatcom Community Foundation’s Resiliency Fund. THANK YOU!

The Resource Center and Other Bank are open! Holiday hours posted too.

We are back! The Resource Center will be open Mondays from 9:30 am- 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm -6 pm, Tuesdays from 9:30 am-12:30 pm, and the first Saturday of the month from 10 am- 2 pm. The Other Bank will also be open Tuesdays from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. We are requiring all visitors and volunteers to wear a mask at all times and will limit the number of people inside the lobby so that we can maintain 6 feet of social distance. If you don’t have a mask, we will have cloth masks available and ask that you wear it each time you come.

Please note: The Resource Center will be closed December 23rd to January 4th for the holidays. We will be open the second Saturday in January, the 9th, instead.

Nature’s path supports the Family Funds program

Local organic foods company Nature’s Path has made the Family Funds program part of its annual Eat Well Do Good fundraising campaign. For every dollar raised by the community, Nature’s Path matches with $5 worth of organic food. Your donation to the campaign supports the Family Funds program that provides emergency assistance to Ferndale School District families (things like backpacks, household items, etc.) AND with the match, will supply organic snacks and cereals to these families too. Thank you and thanks to Nature’s Path. Donate HERE and click on Ferndale Community Family Fund to support.

Ferndale Friendship Community Garden searching for a new Coordinator

For the last 10 years, the Community Garden has been under the care and leadership of Gloria Perez, master gardener and dedicated volunteer. Now it’s time for Gloria to retire! The Community Garden is looking for one or two dedicated individuals who can take over coordination and management of the garden. Prior gardening experience is preferred and Gloria will provide full training. The Garden is a critical community resource and the Coordinator is a critical role. Through a generous grant from the City of Ferndale, we will be able to provide the new coordinator(s) with a small stipend for their time and effort. If you are interested, please see the attached flyer and contact Gloria at rainglo@comcast.net.

Volunteers Needed!

The Community Service Cooperative is accepting applications for new board members. If you are interested in making an impact in Ferndale, please contact Sara O’Connor at oconnsara@gmail.com for more information. And the Resource Center is also looking for volunteers to assist community members in accessing services, job search, and other Center activities. Training provided. Please contact Terri Temple at coordinator@ferndalecsc.org, or call 360-380-2200.
